Niko Pirosmani (1862-1918) lived his entire life in the Georgian capital Tbilisi. Now regarded as Central Europe’s most famous artist, he was entirely self-taught, and largely unrecognized in his lifetime, often leading him to be compared to Vincent Van Gogh.
