This collaboration highlights one of the Chinese artist’s impressive artworks created as part of his emblematic 2018 ‘The Moon Landing Project’ series and enables LITO to offer art-lovers 35 limited edition prints by the artist’s vibrant landmark work.
Wang Yuyang was born in Harbin, the capital of China’s northernmost Heilongjiang province, in 1979. He studied at the China Central Academy of Drama and the Central Academy of Fine Arts (CAFA) where he now teaches in the Experimental Art Department. Whilst his work is inspired by emergent media, he rather uses outdated techniques to create intriguing contrasts.
Yuyang leverages humour, fiction and spectacles to delve into and contemplate the complex relationships between the human body, experience and cognition, all whilst investing the inextricabilities of artificial intelligence, media technology and historical perception.
His work has been shown in numerous museums worldwide, namely the Museo Novacento in Florence, Italy, the Long Museum in Shanghai, the ZKM in Karlsruhe, Germany. His works has also been exhibited at the 2018 Thailand Biennale and the Guangzhou Triennale.
